Commencement Ceremony Program

Though we can't be together, we're going to celebrate as one UL Lafayette family to honor our graduates and their accomplishments.

Virtual Commencement will be celebrated over two days: First, in ceremonies for all academic colleges and the Graduate School and a virtual presentation of the graduates; Second, in a televised community celebration that resembles the traditional in-person General Assembly.

College & Graduate School Ceremonies

The college and Graduate School ceremonies will be available here starting at 10 a.m. on May 15.

Each college ceremony will include:

  • Congratulations from your academic dean
  • Speeches from University President E. Joseph Savoie, University Provost Jaimie Hebert, UL System President Jim Henderson, Student Government Association President Rachel Lautigar, and Alumni Association Executive Director Jennifer LeMeunier
  • Presentation of all graduates' names and photographs
  • Special performances of the National Anthem and Alma Mater from the UL Lafayette Wind Ensemble
  • Conferral of degrees

Note that master's and doctoral graduates will be included in the Graduate School ceremony.

Presentation of Graduates

All graduates will be honored on our virtual Commencement website starting at 10 a.m. on May 15.

Search for a graduate by name or by major to see and hear their name, see their photo, personal message, and video.

You can share and celebrate your graduate's recognition on social media with #RaginGrads or email it to family and friends.

Televised Community Celebration

The community celebration will air on Saturday, May 16. Watch on KATC at 4:30 p.m. and on KADN, KLAF, and KLFY at 6:30 p.m.

The community celebration, which resembles the traditional in-person General Assembly, will include:

  • Congratulations from University President E. Joseph Savoie
  • Speeches from University Provost Jaimie Hebert, Student Government Association President Rachel Lautigar and Alumni Association Executive Director Jennifer Lemeunier
  • Recognition of all colleges' Outstanding Graduates and the overall Outstanding Graduate for Spring 2020
