Summer 2014

Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree diplomas were be conferred during the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Summer 2014 Commencement ceremony.

This summer Commencement was the University’s first since 1949. It took place at 11 a.m. in the Convention Center adjacent to the Cajundome. The ceremony was held in Exhibit Hall B, which is on the first floor.

The University conferred about 160 degrees.

Ceremonies will now be held three times each year, once in the fall, once in the spring and once in the summer.

Summer Commencement is being reintroduced to give graduating seniors an opportunity to participate in a ceremony without having to wait until the fall semester. The University first held Summer Commencement in the 1930s.
